November 3 - Sandwich Day

Today we celebrate that staple of brown bag lunches across the nation, the humble sandwich. We observe this day, the Earl of Sandwich’s birthday. John Montagu, the 4^th Earl of Sandwich, may not have invented the sandwich, but he sure made it popular. What you may not know is that he also had the Sandwich Islands (now Hawaii) named after him.
