March 15 - Maple Syrup Day
Hooray for maple syrup! What else could go so well with pancakes and waffles?
Well, it turns out that maple flavoring goes well with many foods. I use maple extract in my zucchini bread (use instead of vanilla extract). Maple is commonly paired with nuts (usually walnuts) and is most often used in sweets and breakfast foods, but you can easily find other ways to use maple syrup.
Here are some Maple Syrup recipes I enjoyed:
Maple Bars (scroll down)
Maple Walnut Granola (second from top)
Maple Mustard Salmon (third from top)
Maple Ice Cream
Maple-Glazed Walnuts (second down on the right)
Here are the Maple-Glazed Walnuts I made:
Enjoy!
